The IAS Science and Society Committee presents Science with a Twist, December 12, from 6-8 PM at Guggman Haus Brewing Company. The speaker for this event is Dr. Jennifer Kowalski.
Dr. Jennifer Kowalski is a Professor of Biological Sciences at Butler University, where she has been teaching and doing research in cell and molecular neurobiology for more than 15 years. Her research utilizes the microscopic roundworm C. elegans to investigate the molecular processes that control the ability of neurons to communicate with one another, which is critical for learning and memory and is often disrupted in neurological and neurodegenerative diseases. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, as well as the Indiana Academy of Science.
