The Science and Society Committee would like to invite you to Indianapolis’s first “Science with a Twist” event.

Through this event we are hoping to make connections with local scientists, students, K-12 educators, and science enthusiasts. All are encouraged to come, learn, enjoy, and network.

Science with a Twist will take place on July 11, 2023, at 7:00 PM in the Hullman Riverhouse at the Indianapolis Zoo (1200 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN).

This event will feature the Indianapolis Zoo’s own Sergio Henriques!

Sérgio Henriques is the invertebrate conservation coordinator at the Global Center for Species Survival, Indianapolis Zoo. Sergio has more than 20 years of experience mobilizing resources to promote invertebrate conservation, looking for lost species and in summer he can mostly be found under Indiana’s dark skies studying our state’s fireflies. He regularly works with a global network of experts, including IUCN specialist groups and the Invertebrate Conservation Committee, to tackle understudied threats, such as light pollution or the illegal wildlife trade, using the latest technological tools to reverse the ongoing decline of the most diverse group of organisms on earth, invertebrates.
