The Science and Society Committee would like to invite you to our next “Science with a Twist” event.

The IAS Science and Society Committee presents Science with a Twist, March 21, 2025 from 6-8 PM at Guggman Haus Brewing Company (1701 Gent Ave., Indianapolis).

This Science with a Twist event will feature a presentation titled From Web-Builders to Building a Website featuring Dr. Saoirse Foley.

From Web-Builders to Building a Website

Dr. Saoirse Foley is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Marian University. She has been enamored by tarantula spiders for almost two decades, owing to their unique physical traits and characteristics that have helped them to adapt and survive for millions of years. Equipped with experience in phylogenomics, gene orthology predictions, and genome visualizations, she is now aiming to apply these skills towards establishing an online genomics resource for arachnids.

Tickets are $5 for non-members and $4.50 for IAS members.
